Insight Software for the dBadge
The Insight Software data management software for the dBadge noise dosimeter runs in Windows (XP, Vista, 7). It deals with downloading the noise measurements, managing the data and presenting reports.

You only need one copy of the program with the dBadge plug-in. With this, you can manage as many dBadge noise dosimeters as you need, with no additional cost.
Downloading

To download the noise measurements, connect the Infra-Red download cable to the computer's USB port and run the Insight software. Ensure that the dBadge is switched on and place it next to the IR cable as shown. The Insight software will recognize the dBadge and download its measurements automatically. |
Organizing the Results

The downloaded measurements are displayed in a tree view in the Downloaded folder. At this stage the measurements are not assigned to any person, place, etc. You can assign a measurement to any branch of the tree by simply dragging it from the results list.

Viewing the Noise Measurements
Measurements can be viewed in a table (cumulative values like Lavg, Leq, TWA, etc.) or in a graph (for Standard and Plus versions of the dBadge).

Generating Reports
Reports can be created using either single or multiple measurements, which are selected from the tree view in the Insight software. You simply select the entity for which you want to generate a report - this can be a person, place or process and then select the option to Generate report... The Report Wizard then leads you through the process, allowing you to select the sorting (site, location, process or person), making it very convenient to generate reports for all people, all processes, etc. You can then select a date range and even include/exclude selected measurements, and which fields you want included - date, time, duration, battery state, notes, and so on. A personal header and footer can be added. All changes to the layout and content is saved so that you don't have to go through the same selections again. Once generated, the report can be viewed on screen, printed or exported to other formats such as Excel (XLS) or PDF (ideal for sending by email). |
